Your Holiday Programme:

Monday

You’ll leave your chosen joining point in the morning for a lunchtime channel crossing to Calais, then on arrival in France, you’ll settle back into your comfortable reclining seat and watch the rolling scenery glide past as you travel south towards Dijon in the Burgundy wine region. Here you’ll check into overnight hotel on ‘Blue Ribbon’ tours or continue through the night on our ‘Direct Travel’ holiday.

 

Tuesday

 After crossing the Pyrenees and entering Spain at La Jonquera, you’ll check into the hotel Maripins at lunchtime, or late afternoon if you’ve chosen to travel ‘Blue Ribbon’.

 

Wednesday – Christmas Eve

Today is free to enjoy the delightful atmosphere of Catalunya and to explore your resort of Malgrat de Mar.

 

Thursday – Christmas Day

This morning you can enjoy the true spirit of Christmas starting with a traditional Hoverland carol service in Calella church, before returning to your hotel for a Gala Lunch and a lazy afternoon.

 

Friday – Boxing Day

Today you can just relax in your resort or join our included sightseeing excursion to the impressive mountain-top monastery of Montserrat - the home of the famous ‘Black Madonna’. 

Saturday
After breakfast today, your included excursion visits Gerona, one of the Costa Brava’s most historic cities. 

Sunday
This morning’s included excursion visits the Catalan town of Tordera, which boasts the largest open-air market in the region. Here you can barter for those special souvenirs amidst the bustle of local commerce.

Monday
Today your optional sightseeing excursion takes you into the capital of Catalunya to visit the unforgettable city of Barcelona. A fully guided tour of the sights is included before having free time to stroll the famous Ramblas promenade.

Tuesday
This morning you have an included visit the lively Costa Brava resort of Lloret De Mar for a spot of last minute shopping.

Wednesday – New Years Eve
Today is free to prepare for your ‘Gala Dinner’ followed by your New Years Eve party celebrations.  Cava Champagne is included with tonight’s dinner followed by dancing into the early hours.  

Thursday – New Years Day
A day to rest and recover from last night’s party celebrations.

Friday & Saturday
Sadly, you’ll leave your hotel after breakfast for England (staying overnight in France on Blue Ribbon tours), to arrive home Saturday, with many happy memories and a host of treasured photographs.

Hotel Maripins

Perfectly located on the main promenade of Malgrat, the 3-star hotel Maripins offers everything you could want for a really enjoyable festive break. 

 

It is extremely well run, set in delightful tropical gardens and is just 50 metres from the beach.  It offers a spacious reception area, welcoming bars with frequent entertainment, a spotlessly clean dining restaurant with a good choice of full-board buffet meals and a full-size swimming pool with sun terraces and pool bar.   For children there is a games room, internet desks and a safe separated section of the main swimming pool.
